Biography

  Since coming out of highschool, I have been interested in many different fields and it was a challenge to finally decide on which area I would like to puruse for my professional career. I had always had an interest in computers and technology, so that was for certain going to be a large part of my future. I initially enrolled myself at the University of Windsor which was really the first time I lived far away from home. I was taking the Computer Science courses and after completing 2 years, I decided I wanted to utilize my talents in other ways as many first time students do. I then enrolled myself into the Business Marketing program at Humber College in Toronto for a year, which was closer to home but still far enough away that I was disconnected from Barrie. After completing a year there, I took up a summer job at Georgian College back in Barrie working for the Media Services department. While I was working my term, I was convinced by many factors that it may be better for me to transfer my earned credits from Humber to Georgian and just enroll in the Business Marketing Co-op program offered there. The decision was finally made and I was back living in Barrie going to school at Georgian, making new friends and becoming more familiar with the College lifestyle. I finally felt set on my decisions and that I was positively moving forward in life. I now am a recent graduate of the Business Marketing Co-op program, and have begun applying my teachings out in the real world.

  My interest touch on a variety of categories. I am an avid video game player, and currently play games competitively such as World of Warcraft, League of Legends and Starcraft II under the gamertag 'Scyne'. Feel free to check out my related game profiles if you are interested;

Starcraft II - Scyne

World of Warcraft - Scyne

League of Legends - Sçyne

  I am also a passionate Dragonboat athlete. I compete yearly in the annual Dragonboat Festival races hosted in Barrie every summer. I have been doing it for over 6 years now, and have improved each year, placing in the top platinum bracket twice and winning first place for top non-competitve team 3 years running for the Meridian Marauders, for the local Meridian Credit Union. I have inherited a leadership role at the front of the boat for a few years now, and have gained the respect from my fellow teammates through being recognized for my efforts and expertise regarding the sport. I am often a motivator and serve as a guide to the team when they are seekig advice. I love the sport and will be continuing it annually for years to come, and look forward to competing this summer.

  Another interest worth mentioning is my interest in music. I used to be in a band through my first few years of university, and would get together with my bandmates through the summers to learn existing, practice and create new songs. Throughout all of this, I realized the struggle people in the music scene have to overcome to 'make it' as well as what it feels like to compete and market yourself accordingly. Arranging and managing shows all proved to be challenging task, but proved to be quite the life experience. It was vry rewarding, and we even competed in Rock95's Local and Loud competition, winning a 10hour recording contract with Welcraft Studios. My band was called Ages of Man, and members still continue with their musical careers to this day. Feel free to check out some of our videos posted on YouTube. I have to say that my all time favourite experience would of been playing in downtown Toronto at the Opera house, however my favourite venue that we visited numerous times would of been the RockPile also located in Toronto.
